The millenium session found the Monkey Power Trio in exotic Ypsilanti, Michigan, where they blew a wad of their Fox Sports commercial deal money in a semi-professional recording studio. The hope was that they would be able to accomplish with recording trickery what they hadn't been able to accomplish with music alone... that is, spreading universal love and fear through heartfelt but amateur songs. The MPT used DI, "'phones", and spit guards to craft a modern hi fi sound. No more of this DIY, lo-fi, underground crap. MPT goes for that big ELO sound, and succeeds!.
